Minor update today. Almost done painting 4 battalion of French line infantry to my 15mm collection. Did the a little different than my first bunch, but when based up the same they'll fit right in. I'm in the process of gluing onto bases, so below are just the flank companies. The rest (probably when they're all done) will follow soon!

Today's update, Tray 2 of my Infinity collection. This one includes various Ariadna (especially my favorites, the French) and some Yu Jing JSA (Japanese sectorial army). Enjoy! Sp a lot of these minis are my earliest Infinity models. I'm still pretty happy with them, but a lot of my more recent stuff (including some from Tray 1) are better in my mind. I spend more time on each Infinity model since each army requires so few. I do consider my Infinity stuff my best painted collection. More to follow so!
Today also kicks off a series of posts I'm planning about my Infinity collection (and followed up as it grows). For those who don't know, Infinity is a future Sci Fi 28mm skirmish game produced by the Spanish company Corvus Belli. It's very different from anything else I've played, but also one of my favorite games of all time. Games are small scale, usually about 10 models per side. However, the game requires very dense terrain so battles look really cool. If I get around to it, I'll post some pictures of the terrain I have. So, how this series is going to work: I currently play 3 of the 9 factions in the game, Nomads, Ariadna, and Yu Jing. I have 2 boxes of some Tohaa minis, but haven't cracked them open yet, so they don't count. My collections is stored mostly in a Sabol army transport (foam trays cut to fit each mini). I started off giving each faction its own tray, but that didn't hold. Eventually, I had so much stuff, it was like an addiction. Now most of the trays have some intermixing of factions. That means, posts are going to be on a tray by tray basis. Without further ado...Tray 1... Well, I'm motivated again and have some good stuff to post (and plans for more). I finished a sizable addition to my Saga Arab army, adding 4 units of 8 warriors (8 painted to be Mutatawwi'a) and also 6 units of 8 Welsh warriors/levy depending on what I need them to be. No shields on the Arabs yet because I need to get transfers from LBM Studios. I've never used their stuff before, but seen it and love the looks. Next up will be the beginning of a series on my Infinity collection (Sci Fi...gasp!) Enjoy! The Mutatawwi'a 8 generic Arab warriors (Moors, Saracens, or Mutatawwi'a who didn't get the memo that all black is in this year) Ok...so these guys are from Wargames Factory. I was not super impressed by the sculpts, but the price was right. Put together what can already be a full 6 point warband (be it all warriors) for cheap. I also picked up cavalry a long with them (very very far back burner right now) that will become Welsh/Strathclyde. The deal is, all of this was reasonably cheap, and I can use them to play Irish, Welsh, and even toss them on movement trays and use them as Germanic enemies of Rome for Hail Caesar. Good deal all in all. One upside of the iffy sculpts is they painted up quick. Basically just prime, base color, wash, base, done! Not too fun to paint tho, so took me a while.
Little update today...from the painting table. Currently working on 4 battalions of French line infantry to supplement the 6 I already have. I tried something new this time, did their trousers in several different colors. We'll see how that'll turn out. As you can see on their back side, I'm following my typical model of "looks good on the table, don't sweat the small stuff." I chose not to pick out the individual straps on the packs, and, honestly, once it's washed, it will still look good.
Enjoy! So...I've pretty much fallen of the face of the earth with painting and posting. Between buying a house and work, I've been busy. Minor update today though.
I finished off my 6 battalions of Prussian landwehr, a mix or East Prussian and Silesian. I also finished another 3 battalions of line (2 musketeer 1 fusilier) so I'll post those soon. Maybe I'll also throw some more Saga stuff up if I get some good pictures! As always, enjoy! |
