Hey, second update this week. Been doing some work on my 15mm Napoleonics, so I thought I'd post my 28mm Napoleonics as well. I only played 28mm a few times before I moved, so these haven't seen action in a LONG time. They also suffered a major tragedy a few years back. I dropped a can of green spray paint, which proceeded to explode all over a storage closet containing these. I thought they were totally ruined and put them away. I assessed the damage for the first time today and it's not that bad! That aside, here we go! Asutrians: -3 battalions of line (they run as Large in Black Powder, so 8 bases rather than the standard 6) -2 battalion Landwehr (normal size) -1 cannon Russian: -3 battalions line musketeer -1 battalion Grenadiers -1 cannon Over the next few days I'll be finishing up the 15mm Prussian Jaegers, and also working on some terrain pieces for Age of Sigmar (one is a Stonehenge like standing stone piece!).

Well, so much for more frequent updates. Been over a month but I finished my Pink Horrors from last time. Pics are below, but I'm still not taking the best quality ones. I will say, the photos don't do them justice. The shading and transition with the airbrush looks pretty good in person. And...just for fun...I thought I'd throw this up here. Working on some 15mm Napoleonic Prussian Jaegers. So far I've done coats, boots, trousers, and basically anything else black. Next step is detail work, guns, skin, etc. then basing. Oddly enough I think I'm getting close to finishing my Napoleonic collection...A few musketeer and fusilier battalions plus cavalry and generals are all that's left for the Prussians (tho, I could always get MORE) . For the French and allies, I need to finish a few line battalions (just need grass), and some Cuirassiers .
So. That has me thinking about what my next projects will be/already are. Quick list off the top of my head of what I need to do... TONS of terrain (I'm 3D printing some 15mm Napoleonic) -40k more ruins -AoS various pieces, trees, etc -Napoleonic 15mm trees, roads, etc. AoS Armies Tzeentch Beastclaw Raiders 40k Armies Tau Epic 40k (yes, I started this recently) Space Marines Chaos Marines Hail Caesar 28mm Roman and Barbarians Soooooo much to do! However, I have yet another interesting project as mentioned above. I've picked up a cheapish 3D printer. I've been making various Epic minis to varying degrees of success. Basically, any of the more boxy Imperial vehicles are printing nicely. Pics will follow when I paint some. Brief update today. I really wish I remembered to take pictures as I painted all of the minis I do, but I just never do! Even more, I wish I posted everything I did. Alas...what I have been working on the last few days are 10 Tzeentch Pink Horrors. So, below is a mini step-by-step look at how I did them. The first step was a nice coat of Vallejo Violet, sprayed over a light coat of an older paint. Figured the violet was dark enough to cover what looked like just a green wash over white primer. Didn't think this needed any detail closeups. Most of the pics were taken right after spraying, so they have a sheen to them, They dry out nicely tho. Next is a coat of Vallejo Magenta. I tried the technique called "zenithal" where essentially I sprayed the subsequent coats after the base heavier from directly above. I don't think the pics look as good as they do in person. Lastly, I wen't over again with Vallejo Pink. This time I tried to hit the top heavy again, but the rest lighter. I still think I need to work on making my lines blend together more, but I think they turned out well. All in all, pretty happy with them. I'll need to finish details like feathers, teeth, claws, mouths, eyes, etc. But given this took 3 days at about 30-60 minutes per day, I think I'll get them done much faster that straight brush painting.
As usual, comments welcome. Thanks!! So....it has been really long since I posted anything of substance. My first child, Logan was born Dec. 21st 2017. So, naturally it has been hectic! However I have stayed busy, and am going to try to update more regularly. Highlights since my last major update: -Began playing Age of Sigmar (GWs new Warhammer) I have already gone through Blade of Khorne, and now I'm on Disciples of Tzeentch. Love me some horrors! -FINALLY, purchased a barbarian/Germanic/Dacian army and an Imperial Roman one for Hail Caesar. Assembly and paint are another story... -With my gaming group, have scratched the surface of Necromunda (I own no minis yet, looking at Cawdor). I do however have some cool terrain compliments of Promethium Forge. Other misc. stuff. Keeping up with Tau in 40k, look at my Napoleonic miniatures from time to time, consider more historical like F and I War...the usual. Above we have some Tau crisis suits, stealth suits, and fire warriors. going for a minimalist snow paint scheme, with more attention to the bases. Anything above stealth suit size will be airbrushed from now on. More on that later! One of my first Forge World models, the Tau Y'Vahra Some shots from a Tau v. Orks game with my brother. I have really been slacking in terms of taking pics as the game unfolds. Not great pics, but the beginning of the mighty Imperial Roman army. Haven't build their barbarian enemies yet, or some supporting auxiliary units and cavalry. Really slow moving project. Mr. Riptide. He's the reason suits on any size will be getting the airbrush treatment. To a solid 2 weeks to finish him. Action from another Tau/Ork throw down. We have concluded that Ork are just plain bad. Hopefully the upcoming codex helps. Adventures in airbrushing. Picked up a Paasche airbrush a few weeks ago and it has been going pretty well. It'll help a lot with bigger Tau suits, Astra Militarum tanks (some day), hopefully the barbarian horde. Mostly I'm excited that I should help me churn out Tzeentch horrors crazy fast. Pics of Blue and Pink horrors in an upcoming post I hope. Finally, terrain for Necromunda from Promethium Forge. I think it looks awesome. Especially once painted. It's fully modular and this is only about 2/3 of the total. Some of the can stuff (towers) will be good for 40k as well.
And that's that. By no means the only recent projects, however more posts will hopefully be coming soon. Big update today, but sadly because I've decided to move on from Infinity. With little time to game, and recently having picked up 40k again (gasp!) I wanted to post these pictures before the collection makes its way to Bartertown.
Enjoy! |
